  Advent 2009

Fleetwood Christian Reformed Church invites you to join us during the month of December to explore the Advent Conspiracy. Let's Change the way we do Christmas! The story of Jesus birth is a story of Promise, Hope, and a revolutionary Love. So, what happened? What was once a time to celebrate the birth of a Saviour has somehow turned into a season of stress, traffic jams and shopping lists. Is this what we really want out of Christmas? What if Christmas became a world-changing event again? Go to http://www.bclocalnews.com/surrey_area/ surreyleader/community/78693387.html for a news article on Fleetwood CRC and the Advent Conspiracy. Each Sunday morning at 10:00 from November 29 to December 20 we'll hear a message that helps us prepare for a simple Christmas, and in the evening we will have a special service to celebrate Christmas in different and meaningful way.

November 29 AM Worship Fully

  Lent 2009

"Psalms of Lament"

Jesus' cry from the cross, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" echoes one of hte many laments found in the book of Psalms.  Words torn from the gut, wrenching expressions or sorrow, grief and despair have always been an integral part of Israelits history and the Judeo-Christian tradition. As we prepare for Easter during this season of lent we will experience the power of these psalms. They challenge us to stop relating to God at a surface level, saying and doing all the 'right' things, and to engage in authentic, genuine, from the heart, interaction with God.

March 1 - Introduction/Psalm 13

March 8 - Psalm 31

March 15 - Psalm 42

March 22 - Psalm 55

March 29 - Psalm 51

April 5 - Psalm 88 (Palm Sunday)

April 9 - Maundy Thursday - Service of Shadows

April 10 - Psalm 22 (Good Friday)

April 12 - Easter Service
