Children

Children are a vital and life-giving part of our community at Fleetwood. We recognise that we are all one in Christ Jesus, regardless of our age.

Jesus said:

“Let the little children come, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

With this in mind, we invite our children to be part of our family in many different ways in our church community on Sundays and during the week.

Sundays

Children in Worship

Our children are invited into our worship service to participate with their parents, and are encouraged to be a part of it through reading Scripture and singing. We have a special message just for kids (age 3 to grade 3) during our service, after which they are invited to attend Children’s Church upstairs in our Fireside Room (September-June). Activity Bags and colouring sheets are available for use in the cabinet located near the right side doors of the sanctuary for children of all ages to use during the service. Families can use the bags marked with their last name. If you are a guest with us or have children visiting you, there is a bag labelled guest. Please place bags that need refilling on an upper shelf.

Children’s Church

We believe that it is important to teach our kids about the larger story of which they are a part, so that they can know the triune God. This is why we have the opportunity for them to hear the stories at their level, so that they can begin to encounter God and feel that they belong to Him.   Parents are welcome to join their children in the classrooms to see a class in action, and are asked to pick up their children directly after the service.

Nursery

We have a safe and comfortable place for really young children (birth to age 3) in our nursery during the service so that parents can worship worry-free. Pagers are available so you will be notified if your child needs you during the service.
